Creel House is located in the village of Lake Tekapo and is an excellent base for exploring the Tekapo and Mt Cook regions.
Your hosts, Rosemary and Grant Brown invite you to stay in their three storied home built by Grant in the style of a Norwegian chalet.
All rooms are spacious and comfortable with three guest bedrooms, two doubles (queen beds) with private bathrooms, and twin room with
two single beds and ensuite. The accommodation is on the middle and upper floor with guest entrance and lounge. As there are stairs
we recommend light bags of luggage! A continental breakfast with home made produce is served.
Lake Tekapo is situated halfway 250 kms equi-distant from Christchurch and Queenstown, and only 75 minutes to Mt Cook.
It is also close to Roundhill and Mt Dobson ski fields for skiing and winter pursuits. The lake is known for its incredibly
turquoise blue glacial waters where the historic Church of the Good Shepherd sits on the foreshore.
The night sky of Tekapo and the Mackenzie District is spectacular on a clear night and has been recently designated a gold level and
International Dark Sky Reserve status. This accolade means that the area is one, if not the best place in the world to view the night sky.
Local walks start nearby. Creel House is a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and shops or a three minute drive.
We have been hosting bed and breakfast guests for 18 years and enjoy providing our home for guests to stay in. Two cats live with us
downstairs and are outside most of the time.
